Infused water or flavored water: what's the difference?

One speaks of infused water, the other of flavored water.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN INFUSED WATER AND FLAVORED WATER?

Sometimes we say different things, but we mean exactly the same thing. One speaks of flavored water and the other of infused water. Basically, one is just the (free) German translation of the other. In this respect, both are talking about the same thing: a delicious drink that helps you to drink more and therefore enough healthy water, because the ingredients in your infused water give the water a special taste, according to your preferences.

WHAT IS INFUSED WATER?

For an infused water, you need one thing above all: ingredients that you like. For example, fresh fruit, herbs and spices. And you need some time. This is because the washed ingredients are added to the water first and then infused for a few minutes. Only then will your water taste slightly of all the ingredients you added beforehand.

IS INFUSED WATER HEALTHY?

Infused water is definitely healthy because it consists only of water and fresh fruit, spices, etc. It provides you with sufficient fluids and tastes really delicious. Infused water can help you to drink more healthy water and avoid the odd soft drink or juice spritzer. Give it a try!

RECIPE FOR AN INFUSED WATER

Orange-ginger

Ingredients for your infused water

  • Organic orange
  • Ginger

Preparation of your infused water - orange-ginger:

First wash the ingredients thoroughly. If you are using organic products, you can also use the peel. Otherwise, we recommend that you peel the ingredients.

Now cut the orange into thin slices and remove the seeds from the fruit. You can cut the ginger into thin slices with the largest possible surface area.

Take as much of both ingredients as you like, but no more than a handful in total. The ingredients are then placed in a container and infused with a liter of fresh water, whether tap water or mineral water. Ideally, you should then leave your infused water to infuse in the fridge for an hour before enjoying it sip by sip.

Tip: In autumn and winter, this infused water also tastes delicious warm or even hot.
Caution: You should not store freshly prepared infused water and consume it on the day it is made.
